Make sure the work succeeds.
Much of my work has required me to occupy two roles—strategic thinker and on-the-ground producer. The joy has been in orchestrating powerful experiences and programs through deep collaboration with leadership, strategy, design, and production teams.
At Teach For America-New York, the $1M major gifts program relied heavily on long-term donor support and was experiencing attrition. As Director, I identified critical areas for improvement: program operations and branding, event production, and energizing our young professionals board.
My part-doer, part-strategist skillset came in handy when I joined SYPartners. Their brand team was experiencing rapid growth, and as a result, breakdowns in workflow. I brought harmony to the system. As the hub of six to eight team projects running concurrently—I produced podcasts, books, and experiences with top leaders like SYPartners Founders.
Tell a compelling story.
The story is where belief is built and coalitions coalesce. I’ve had the pleasure of creating campaigns, content, and programs that move audiences to action.
Relationships Week is a firm-wide, internal brand campaign introduced to help employees develop skills around relationship-building. Well-attended and now an annual event, the program brought attention to a core value that supports business growth. It inspired SYPartners employees to intentionally invest time in honing the skill of building strong, sustainable relationships.
I’ve also led a range of brand-focused projects for artists and small businesses including redesigning websites, content and brand strategy for a chef, and leading a strategy workshop for the debut of a singer’s EP.
As producer, music supervisor, and on-stage performer, I worked with Keith Yamashita, SYPartners Founder, to debut his story for Creative Mornings New York. He shared what happens when you are having the best year of your entire life, the best year in your career, and you are suddenly taken down by a stroke. We shared his story of renewal alongside reflective exercises for life to an audience of over 500 people (and have since shared it at conferences in San Francisco and Wales.)

As Co-Chair of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Leadership Circle at SYPartners, I led a team of 15 to create and execute a DEI vision and strategy. We created workshops, as well as offered rituals and resources that individuals put to use in their work and everyday lives. The Brave Space Agreements are an example of a ritual introduced by the DEI Leadership Circle and now widely used by the firm.
The Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts (MoCADA) was preparing for expansion and required funding. Working with the Executive Director, Board, and staff, I led a compelling Kickstarter campaign, from website copy to customized fundraising plans tailored to each board member’s personal network. In turn, they quickly leveraged opportunities and found success. We raised $50,000.
